Balkan Lynx near extinction

The Lynx is the only wild cat left in Europe. The population of Balkan Lynx's is anywhere from 40 and up, hopefully at least 100 which is minimum population to be sustainable. Why is the Lynx almost extinct? Humans of course. Lynx's are hunted for their fur, which is valuable. Also, humans are expanding development of woodlands, destroying their natural habitat.
