yes, a great film but you have to have patience, because it is slow, and foreign. it is about a changing japanese society and culture, influenced by heartless ruthless American capitalism and jingoism, and emasculation of japanese men. it is also about beauty, and hope. I was almost bored at one point, but concentrated on the scenery, the shots of Tokyo. then the ending came, and I was blown away - wow ! beautiful. hopeful.
